Contacts Can Now Track Your Protocols in Real Time
Contacts can now monitor protocol status in real time. Enable launch notifications and give trusted people clear visibility from activation to confirmation.
TL;DR
You can now give trusted contacts better visibility during active protocols. If enabled, contacts are notified at launch and can follow protocol status in real time, instead of only seeing alerts at overdue stage.
Who is this for
Users who want proactive transparency for family, partners, or colleagues in higher-risk contexts, without changing the core escalation logic.
Until now, contacts were mostly notified when a protocol went overdue. This update adds optional early visibility and better control over when contact awareness should start.
What Is New in Contact Tracking
Until now, emergency contacts were only notified when something went wrong. This release adds earlier visibility and better contact-side understanding without changing your core escalation logic.
Launch notification (optional)
Choose whether contacts are notified when a protocol starts, not only when confirmation is missed.
Live status visibility
Contacts can follow countdown progress and current protocol state without waiting for manual updates.
Protected contact access
Status pages are access-controlled so only intended contacts can view protocol progression details.
When This Helps Most
- Late-night commute where family wants proactive visibility
- Solo travel day with multiple checkpoints
- Medical appointment with a return-time commitment
- High-risk context where contacts should monitor status from launch
Launch notifications remain optional. You decide when proactive contact visibility is appropriate.
Real-Time Protocol Tracking Page
Contacts can monitor countdown and protocol status directly, instead of wondering whether confirmation happened.

What Contacts See
- Live countdown timer with visual progress
- Auto-refresh when check-in succeeds or goes overdue
- Mobile-friendly page with quick refresh behavior
- PIN-protected access for contact-side security
Visual Status at a Glance
Countdown color shifts help contacts assess urgency instantly.
Green - Safe
More than 50% of protocol time remaining.
Yellow - Attention
Between 25% and 50% time remaining.
Red - Urgent
Less than 25% remaining or protocol overdue.
What Happens at the End
If Overdue
When deadline passes without check-in, tracking transitions to emergency access flow.
- Emergency message revealed to authorized contacts
- Files and support context become accessible
- Contacts receive full prepared response payload
If Confirmed
On successful check-in, contacts see a clear safe confirmation state.
- "User confirmed safe" message appears
- Status is visible briefly for closure (about 2 minutes)
- Access then expires automatically for security
Privacy by Design
Short post-confirmation visibility gives contacts closure without leaving sensitive protocol data available indefinitely. After expiration, contacts see a generic unavailable state.
Contact tracking is designed to improve coordination, not create constant surveillance.
Give Contacts the Visibility They Need
When contacts can track protocol status live, they are better prepared to help if escalation is needed.
